Netwarden vs Self-hosted Sentry
Sentry publishes a self-hosted edition under its Functional Source License. It runs Sentry on your own machine, and it needs at least 4 CPU cores, 16 GB of RAM plus 16 GB of swap and 20 GB of disk (32 GB of RAM recommended), for about fifteen services including Kafka, ClickHouse, Redis, PostgreSQL and Snuba. Netwarden is the other way to stop paying per event: keep the SDKs, change the DSN, and let someone else run it.
Free for one project and 50K events a month.

Pick Netwarden if
- You would rather not run and upgrade Kafka, ClickHouse and a dozen more services for error tracking.
- Your server is better spent on your product than on a 16 GB error tracker.
- You want your own servers watched too, from the same account.
Pick Self-hosted Sentry if
- Your data must stay on hardware you control.
- You need session replay or profiling.
- You already have the people and the machine to keep it upgraded.
Moving from Self-hosted Sentry
Your apps already use Sentry SDKs: change the DSN. Netwarden can import 90 days of error history from Sentry, and forward events back to your Sentry while you compare.
